Agilent Technologies Announces Industry's Highest-Performance Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers
10.03.2013
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the availability of real-time spectrum analysis (RTSA) for its PXA X-Series signal analyzers. Agilent's RTSA delivers unmatched probability of intercept (POI), analysis bandwidth, sensitivity, and frequency range-capabilities that make it the best way for system developers and signal analysts to see, capture and understand highly elusive signals. In applications such as radar, electronic warfare and military communications, POI is the key benchmark for RTSA. When configured for real-time spectrum analysis, the PXA can detect intermittent signals with durations as short as 3.57 µs, which is the best POI currently available. "Even at the extremes of signal analysis, a high-performance analyzer should be ready for anything-and that's why RTSA is an upgrade option to the PXA," said Guy Séné, president of Agilent's Electronic Measurement Group. "Only the real-time PXA combines a high-performance signal analyzer and real-time analysis. It gives users greater confidence that they've achieved a detailed understanding of what's happening inside a signal-rich system or environment." To help detect more signals in less time, Agilent's real-time PXA provides an industry-leading 75-dB spurious-free dynamic range across analysis bandwidths of up to 160 MHz. This enables users to place deep and wide measurements anywhere within a measurement range of 50 GHz. In addition to its industry-leading sensitivity of -157 dBm at 10 GHz (no preamp), the PXA also provides the ability to vary the resolution bandwidth within a measurement span. With this combination of capabilities, users are better able to resolve closely spaced signals, identify intermittent low-level signals and further improve POI. For deeper analysis and thorough characterization of complex signals, a real-time PXA seamlessly integrates with Agilent 89600 VSA software. This combination of capabilities enables users to find the root cause of signal problems with advanced troubleshooting tools that support measurements in the time, frequency and modulation domains. The software also provides connections to Agilent instruments such as vector signal generators and arbitrary waveform generators to play back captured signals as inputs to a device under test.

Agilent Technologies Announces Three-Year Warranty as Standard Coverage for All Electronic Test Instruments Worldwide
04.03.2013
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that all new Agilent electronic test instruments sold after 1st March 2013 will be covered by a “bumper-to-bumper” three-year repair warranty. The increase from one year to three years is the result of ongoing quality initiatives that, from 2002 to 2012, yielded unprecedented improvements in product reliability and earned top marks in an independent customer survey rating RF and microwave product quality. For customers, Agilent’s industry-leading combination of reliability and coverage provides three important benefits. First is increased confidence in instrument uptime on the production line, during design projects and in other critical operations. Second is reduced cost of ownership with fewer budgetary surprises due to unexpected repair costs. Third is greater convenience in the unlikely event service is ever required. “Our customers have come to expect the highest quality from Agilent,” said Eric Taylor, Agilent vice president, Electronic Measurement Group. “The three-year standard warranty is yet another way we’re helping them achieve their business, project and production goals.” Depending on the industry and application, a typical Agilent instrument is in service for eight years and sometimes much longer. To help customers sustain ongoing confidence in instrument performance and measurement accuracy, Agilent offers Assurance Plans for repair and calibration services. When included with a new instrument, these plans are available at a lower cost than when purchased later. The Agilent Warranty Assurance Plan is the lowest-priced, most convenient way to minimize disruption of instrument availability for five years. Beyond the extended coverage, this enhanced plan offers additional benefits such as calibration after repair, priority service, six-month warranty extension if a repair is needed, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical overload stress (EOS) coverage. The Agilent Calibration Assurance Plans offer OEM-quality calibrations at the lowest price and ensure that instruments will function at their original specifications, giving customers ongoing confidence in the accuracy of measurements.
